How to choose an insert card tool: 9 questions to ask

Updated October 31, 2026 · 5 min read

Insert card and registration tools all promise more reviews and more emails. Some are built on tactics that put your seller account at risk. Ask these questions before you choose.

1. Does it treat every buyer the same?

If the tool asks "How was your experience?" and only sends happy buyers to a review page, that's review gating. It's prohibited on Amazon and targeted by the FTC. Kartzo shows every buyer the same steps and the same neutral review invitation.

2. Is any reward tied to a review?

Gifts must be for registering, never for a review or a screenshot of one. In Kartzo, the gift comes before any review question and doesn't depend on it.

3. Can you change the page without reprinting?

Your cards might sit in inventory for a year. The page behind the QR code should be editable any time: words, gift, video, questions.

4. Does it design the card for you?

A good tool gives you print-ready files with your logo, colours and QR code, not just a QR image. Kartzo has six templates (gift, download, course, warranty, classic, big QR), three sizes, and PDFs with bleed.

5. Can it deliver the gift?

Look for digital gifts delivered instantly, and real shipping options for physical ones: Shopify orders or discounted shipping labels, plus duplicate-claim protection.

6. Can you test offers?

Is a free gift worth it, or does a free warranty do as well for $0? Kartzo's Experiments compare printed cards or page versions and tell you in plain words when the difference is real.

7. Who owns the data?

You should, with CSV export and opt-in email consent recorded.

8. Does it connect to Amazon properly?

Official Amazon connections should use Amazon's own Request a Review button for every order and never read more buyer data than needed.

9. Does the price fit a small catalog?

Many tools start at $20–$50 a month even for one product. Kartzo starts at $7 per product per month, $20 for up to 5 products, and $50 unlimited, with a 14-day free trial and no card needed.
